New NEUTROGENA® Nourishing Long Wear Makeup sure makes your skin happy. Continue reading for more exciting info on this skincare solution! I am always very skeptical when it comes to trying new products that go on my skin. I have very sensitive skin and just one little thing can make my face go all red and blotchy. I received this full size sample in the mail for free from BzzAgent to try. The product is a long wear makeup that should last up to 12 hours even resisting heat and humidity. It also has a tone correcting complex that is clinically proven to make skin tone look more even in just 4 weeks. At first glance looking at it, the color looked WAY to dark for my skin The color was Nude 40. I wasn't going to try it for this reason alone. I gave my sample to my friend Jill to try. Within a day I had received a second bottle in the mail (Must of been a mistake). I asked Jill how she liked the makeup and she said she was wearing it currently and it seemed good so far. She said the color seemed to disappear on her skin. I decided then to try it myself because our skin tones weren't that different in shade. I decided to wear the foundation to work the next day, giving it a shot. It is supposed to be a 12 hour long wear formula so a full day at work should put it to the test. I applied the liquid with a wet sponge to get an even application all over my face. It went on very smooth and felt light. Once it set I didn't feel it at all. The coverage was surprisingly very good. My skin wasn't really problematic at the moment so just evening out the skin tone was nice. I wore it all day at work and normally halfway through my day I get very oily when I have a foundation on my skin. At midday I noticed a little bit of shine, but nothing compared to my normal reaction. I made it a whole day and the coverage was still in tact and the shine was at minimal. I was very happy with it. It is however winter, so I haven't been able to put it to the heat and humidity test yet. I tried it again a few more times and then noticed my skin starting to break out. It made me suspicious to the makeup so I discontinued use. I checked back in with Jill to see how she was doing with the makeup. She had nothing bad to say. She was currently using it as her primary foundation and found it was actually helping her skin. She had not experienced any breakouts and noticed at times when she would normally see a breakout, she now wasn't seeing at all. Needless to say, Jill is a happy customer when it comes to the Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear makeup. She has already recommended it to friends. I have recently determined that the makeup was not my source of breaking out and I will continue to use it. I really liked it and was upset when my skin broke out. I did more research on the product and did find it is quite pricey. A 1 fluid ounce bottle is roughly around 15.99. One good thing about this is a little goes a long way and you will get a lot of use out of the bottle for the price. Overall I think it is a nice product. I am not 100% sure I will repurchase once this bottle is used. This is only because I have to really use it longer to see if it really helps my skin out in the long run or if its just another gimmick to get a dollar. Jill has provided me some before and after photos of her wearing the makeup as a visual to what the makeup can do. I want to thank her for that and appreciate her help in this review. As you can see thanks to Jill, this stuff really has nice coverage. It brightens her right up. Her skin is doing really well with this and I am so grateful she let me use her as a model in this review!

Brands always want your business. The way most companies do this is by sending out free samples. They are hoping once you have tried the sample, you will be hooked and will go out and buy the full size version of their product. This has happened to me a few times. I absolutely loved the product and had to buy it. Now a sample can vary in size from company to company. I will go through them all here to give you an idea of what will be seeing once the samples start rolling in. *There are foil packets which in the freebie world are the most disliked samples. They are exactly as they sound. They come in a foil packet you need to open and probably will only get 1 or 2 uses out of. Popular foil packets are usually beauty products. *The next is deluxe samples which are normally little bottle or containers which will have a lot more product for you to try. These are usually great for travel. Some examples are shampoo/conditioner or cosmetics. *When you start getting out of beauty and cosmetics and into home products you will usually see "one use" samples. You will get things like one garbage bag, one wipe, one dishwasher pod or one laundry pod. These samples allow you to try out the product once to get the feel of what it does. *Food is very popular to sample. You will normally get one full size product to sample. Usually a small bag of chips or one individual breakfast bar. They are nice to stockpile when you need a quick snack. *Full size samples are rare, but they do exist. Some companies will surprise you with full size even if they are advertising just a sample. I always love when a sample arrives in full size. Makes you appreciate them and want to buy more. Now that you understand the types of samples I will tell you how to get them. There are many ways and I will list the easiest and more popular ways to sample new things. The number one place I get my samples from is Facebook. Brand websites love to give away samples to boost buzz about a new product. You will need to "like" as many companies as possible to catch all the samples. Most are not announced, but some companies will give you a heads up when new samples are going live. If you are going to go with this option I suggest getting a second Facebook. It gets pretty clogged up with all the posts and could annoy your friends if you are constantly posting stuff about your freebies. The next place I suggest checking out is a review website like BzzAgent or Smiley360 (Check out my freebie site page for more info on these). These sites will send you full size products to try. They only ask in return that you review the product honestly. They need these reviews for research so if you plan to do this option, please be honest and give them feedback. The final way I suggest is to enter contests! You have to be in it to win it. There are so many different ways to do this. Again Facebook is a good place. There are always contests where all you have to do is comment on a post, or sign up with name and email. Very easy. Search the internet for sweepstakes and contests that interest you. They are out there. I think in another post I will post the things I have won to show it is possible to win big. Lemme know if you want to hear about those things in the comments! Now that you have signed up for everything, its waiting time. Most freebies take 6 to 8 weeks to show up in your mailbox. It can be quite discouraging at first, but then things start rolling in! Christmas morning has come to your mailbox! Thank you for taking the time to read this! I hope this has helped! Leave me any questions in the comments. Also leave me your favorite ways to score freebies! I don't know a girl (or a guy for that matter) who doesn't love a good razor that brings a great shave! Need a little help picking out that new razor ladies? Look no further! Continue reading to add this pretty little razor to your list of contenders! Spring is coming ladies! I am excited to introduce you to this new razor that will surely help you prepare for warmer days. This is the Schick Hydro Silk for Sensitive Skin. Not only will this give you a nice smooth cut, it will also help those of you who have sensitive skin and skin irritations. As you can see in the photos here, this razor has 5 sharp blades with a skin guard that will protect your skin and give you a close, smooth cut every time. It is also uniquely designed with water activating moisturizing serum to help keep legs feeling smooth. I have been using this product for about a month now, and I will admit I really enjoy it. I have really sensitive skin and I regularly get blotchy or breakouts. Since using this razor I have noticed a reduction in the razor burn on my legs, particularly near my ankles and the back of my legs. I also use this razor on my underarms and that area also feels less irritated after shaving. Looking at the whole razor I would say it is a really nice design. It handles nicely. The head of the razor pivots and moves as you move it over curves in your body. This helps again with a nice smooth finish. The razor cartridge snaps out really easy and is easy to replace. This particular one came with a shower hook to hang your razor. I really like that feature so it doesn't lay in a water puddle and rust or goop up from the moisture strips.
I will be repurchasing this when the blades dull out. So far they have lasted a few weeks on the same cartridge. This is impressive because I normally dull them our pretty quickly. Overall this does a great job. It gets the job done without irritation. That's always a plus in my book! Let me know what you think of the product if you have used it. I would also like to know if this review was the reason you bought the razor for yourself! Thanks again for all your support! When Sunday brings you technical difficulties, you fight right back and make it even better! Today is a little different than my normal Sunday reviews. Because of a little technical difficulty with the pictures I needed to upload for this blog, I am going to instead discuss some of my future reviews, where this blog is headed and all the awesome tips and such I can't wait to share with you all!
When I started this blog I wanted to make sure I had an honest opinion and something that would actually help someone looking for review on a specific product. This is my third week writing and I already feel like I have made a tiny impact on the world. I had my very first comment come from Colgate. That is huge for me: the new guy on the block. It makes me want to continue on. Give my opinions and grow with all of you! In the next few weeks I have some beauty products, as well as household products to review. I am also going to do a piece on loyalty programs and my upcoming experience with one. I want to make this page as useful and versatile as I can. With that all being said, what do you all want to see? Any specific topics? Any products? I really want to do what is most useful to you all: my readers. I plan to do giveaways and fun things as this blog grows. This particular blog is to get an idea of who's reading and what you want to see next. Please leave me your comments on what you are looking for in this blog. Any comments welcome! Until next time! Have a great week! Interested in the newest dental products on the market? You have come to the right place to get a handle on the new Colgate Optic White toothbrush and toothpaste. Keep reading to learn if the new Optic White toothbrush is for you! First thing first as I jump into this review, Influenster must think I have a huge family or I really go through a ton of dental products because in the past 2 months I have gotten a total of 6 toothbrushes! I am definitely not complaining, dental products are expensive and I love the opportunity to try them out. So I thank you Influenster for looking out for my dental health! Now lets jump into the newest product I received via a voxbox from Influenster. The Colgate Optic White toothbrush. The first thing I noticed when I unboxed this toothbrush is it has a very wide handle. This toothbrush comes with a tube of teeth whitener which you are able to store right in the toothbrush for easy access. This explains why the handle is so wide. However, for someone like me with small hands, it handles a bit awkward. I found it very bulky and really hard to make comfortable in my grip. Once I got a handle on holding the toothbrush I used it as I normally would use my toothbrush and I found the bristles to be very stiff. I am used to a softer bristle so this was like torture to my gums. Very irritating and harsh. According to the website, "The Colgate® Optic White® toothbrush is specially designed with polishing bristles and stain removers to help remove surface stains". So it seems these specially designed bristles can be a little to rough for someone who has sensitive gums. In my opinion I recommend going easy the first time you try out this toothbrush, especially if you have sensitive gums. You may want to avoid it all together if your gums are prone to bleeding or are extremely sensitive. Once I finished (gently) brushing my teeth it was time to use the handy dandy whitener. It is a nice sized tube with little scrubby nubbys on the tip. All you have to do it turn the little dial on the bottom of the tube to release some of the gel. This stuff is supposed to adhere to your teeth right away to help quickly whiten your teeth. I seemed to have trouble getting this to stay on my teeth. The gel kept sticking back to the tip. I eventually got enough gel out that I used my fingers to spread it all over my teeth. Once I got it applied it seemed to adhere quickly. According to the packaging you are supposed to notice whiter teeth in as little as 2 days. I have been using the toothbrush for about 5 days now. I have not really noticed a difference yet in my teeth. I forgot to mention at the beginning I am also using the Optic White toothpaste which was also provided with this challenge. I am going to continue to at least use the toothpaste and the whitening gel and see where that gets me. I will do an update in another week as to if I am noticing a change in the color of my teeth. Have any of you used these products? I would love to know how your experience went! I really wanted to love this. I was so excited when I got accepted into the challenge. I am a bit disappointed in the toothbrush itself more than anything. But as in anything, you can't love everything. I love Colgate products, unfortunately this one is just not for me. Maybe they will come out with a more soft bristled toothbrush for people like myself who have sensitive gums. Until then, I am glad I got to try this out, but unfortunately this ones not for me. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope it was helpful to anyone interested in trying this out! This product was brought to you by:
Have trouble getting your dishes clean in your dishwasher? Have no fear, Cascade Platinum will do the job for you right the first time around! If you want an in depth look into this wonder product keep reading! When I moved into my new apartment almost a year ago now, I was more than thrilled to have a dishwasher in my kitchen. On top of having a dishwasher, it was new. Even better. I immediately went to the store to buy some dishwasher detergent so I was prepared for my first wash. I opted for the powder detergent pouch in the store brand option. When I finally had enough dishes to wash, I turned that puppy on and waited. I was over joyed I did not have to hand wash my dishes anymore.
The cycle ended and I let it sit and dry for a bit. I pulled open the door to find semi clean dishes. My heart sank. I was so disappointed. I had waited for this? I thought, there had to be something wrong with the dishwasher. It was brand spankin' new! I put another pouch in and rewashed the same set of dishes. Again dirty dishes. I got so frustrated I finally just took out the ones that had come clean and hand washed the rest. This went on for a few more months before I just decided it was easier to clean the dishes by hand. I still was convinced something was wrong with my dishwasher, but could never find the time to call maintanance to come look at it. Around Thanksgiving I had received a sample in the mail of Cascade Platinum. For weeks it sat on my counter mocking me. I had a big Thanksgiving dinner at my place and tons of dishes that needed to be washed. I was none to thrilled to have to do them all by hand. I gave in. Cascade had won. I waited patiently as the dishwasher did its thing. It was finally done. I opened the door slowly, almost scared at what I would find. As the light hit the dishes, I saw something amazing. My dishes were, gasp, CLEAN! Not one spec of food on any dish. My silverware was shiney and my cups didn't have water spots. I was so estatic. My dishes were clean and there was no rewashing to do. I was able to put away all my dishes and reload any dirty dishes without any issues. I was able to walk away from my kitchen happy for once. Cascade made a believer out of me, just by sending me a sample in the mail. I have now bought a bag of this wonderful product and have been using it ever since. Clean dishes every time! Take at look at my before and after pictures to get the full effect of how Cascade does the dirty work! |
